The rock on the shore of Pierce Pond seem to have lived a very tortured life.

Start: Caribou Pond Road, Stratton, ME

Finish: Route 27, Stratton, ME

Elevation gain: 2,441'

A short slack packing hike up Crocker Mountain and down to Route 27. I am glad that I have done a fair amount of slack acking recently--my leg seems to be healing well as I have had a couple of hikes with minimal pain. I will do one more slack pack, over the Bigelows, the last tough ridge in Maine, other than Katahdin.
