The Broad French River, just to the east of Hot Springs.
I am staying at the Sunnybank Inn & Hostel tonight. It was built in 1840, renovated in 1875, and is now on the National Historic Register.
In my fantasy the sweet hound escapes her evil master and shows up back on the trail looking for you. You finish the hike with her by your side and take home a new running companion for you and DW :)
