Day 67/June 7

Miles Hiked: 7.52 in 5:21

Start: Route 25, Warren, NH (The Hikers Welcome Hostel)

Finish: Beaver Brook Shelter, NH

Elevation gain: 5,112'

All you can eat pancake, eggs and bacon breakfast at the Hikers Welcome Hostel. Very chill hostel, but the younger crowd likes to stay up late. LOL

Distances to go from the hostel.

My running/hiking buddy, Peter Crisci, joins me for a couple of days. He brought extra food, clothing and moral support. Very welcome addition to the team. However, Peter is definitely Old Skool here with his 43-year-old external frame pack. Good thing that he's as strong as a horse and can climb hills really well. Here we are about to get above tree line on Mt. Moosilauke.

About 100' from the summit a long line of menacing black clouds approached and they were soon upon us with rain and strong winds. We both got wet and chilled very quickly, but as we pushed on to get below tree line, the sun came out again.

The view from the front of the Beaver Brook Shelter--the far peaks are the Franconia Ridge and the Kinsmans are in the foreground. It would take us two days to get through the Kinsmans.

Route from my Suunto.
